2015 Business Awards- Sandhurst Interiors

10 July 2015

Sandhurst Interiors has been improving office space since 1988, providing commercial refurbishment to businesses across South East England.

For over half this period, Sandhurst Interiors has stored with Access Self Storage, making it the longest standing storer among the shortlisted Business of the Year contenders.

A family-run business, Sandhurst Interiors was initially set-up by husband and wife team, Lucy and Keith Brown 27 years ago. After their retirement in 2010, Sandhurst Interiors became a limited entity and son Dominic Brown was appointed sole director.

A natural progression into the family business, Dominic’s experience as project manager combined with his training as a partitioner and ceiling fixer, helped Sandhurst Interiors to grow and respond to the changing UK market. “Our business has evolved greatly since it began and we are now more adaptable to market conditions and more focused on providing quality works and projects within budgets and timeframes”, added Dominic.

Storing at Access Self Storage in Camberley was an obvious choice for Sandhurst Interiors who needed storage space for materials, but with flexible terms to match thematerial demands of varying jobs.

“I use Access to store my tools and materials. The 24-hour access to my units definitely provides me with the accessibility I need to get to my items at any time of day or night and even on the weekends”, said Dominic.

Dominic’s father Keith started storing at Access over a decade ago with a 100 square foot unit. Since then, Sandhurst Interiors has doubled its usage and now occupies a 240 square foot unit and an additional half garage sized unit for material storage.

Having worked on small-scale business refurbishments to fit-out work for large multinational companies, Sandhurst Interiors has built a loyal clientele across a range of sectors. The business can now boast 75 per cent of business comes from repeat customers, which is a true testament to the teams’long-term dedication and commitment for delivering quality work and to the needs of the client.
Sandhurst Interiors is currently enjoying a period of growth with projects booked well ahead of the New Year.“I definitely want to continue to grow the company as well as employ more staff both office based as well as contractual project managers”, said Dominic.

Recent work by Sandhurst Interiors included the decoration of the Camberley Audi service centre. Another was the refurbishment of the outdated 1960s female/male toilets at Sandhurst School - bringing these into the twenty-first century!
