As part of a new pilot scheme, Access Self Storage will be joining forces with Swedish homewares retail giant IKEA to trial a new click and collect delivery service in London.
This new service is open to customers who live within 45km (27 miles) of an IKEA parcel locker. The click and collect service is ideal for people who may not be home during an IKEA delivery window, and it may be cheaper than door-to-door delivery at a cost of £5 for delivery on orders of under £200.

So far, IKEA parcel locker units have been installed as a pilot in 12 Access Self Storage sites. The 12 locations are:
Should the pilot be successful, IKEA plans to install 25 IKEA locker locations across London by the end of 2023. This would create the option for 24/7 collections and enable 60% of final mile deliveries into London to be zero emissions.
Click and collect delivery continues to rise rapidly in the UK, outpacing growth in the online retail channel, with click and collect sales forecast to account for 12.9% of total online spend in 2023, 1.9% higher than in 2017, according to GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.
