Windsor is probably best known for Windsor Castle. It’s the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world and the Queen spends most of her weekends there. It’s open to visitors every day of the week throughout the year, although bear in mind that as it’s a working royal palace, it sometimes has to close at short notice, so it’s best to check the website before heading there. You can take a tour of the castle and watch the changing of the guard, which usually takes place at 11:00 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
If you’re heading to Windsor Castle, you might want to pop into St George’s Chapel. You can reminisce over the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle by attending a chapel service to hear the music and taking a tour of the building.
Perhaps you run a business selling royal souvenirs to Windsor’s thousands of tourists? We have the perfect place to store your excess stock – complete with covered loading bays and 24/7 access.
If you’re looking for a fun day out with the family, you can’t go wrong with the Legoland Windsor resort. With more than 55 rides, various shows and even driving lessons (complete with driver’s license) Legoland makes a Windsor day trip worthwhile. You can buy annual passes, but if you’re just planning a one-off trip, booking in advance online can save you around a third of the overall ticket price.
Maybe your kids have recently outgrown some of their toys and furniture, but you’d rather keep them on hand just in case rather than throw them away? Our Windsor storage units come in a range of sizes and with flexible terms. Our friendly team is always on hand to help you find the best solution for your family.
Windsor Great Park is a beautiful place to explore. Spanning 4,800 acres, you can visit the Savill Garden and the Valley Gardens for horticultural displays and woodland paths, see the 100-foot Totem Pole at Virginia Water Lake or walk the tree-lined avenue from Windsor Castle to the Copper Horse statue. With stunning views, plenty of trails and a lovely restaurant to boot, there’s something for everyone all year round.
Alternatively, if you’re in the mood for some sport and a good time, why not head to Royal Windsor Racecourse? From April to October there is plenty to do, including Monday night racing, festivals and family fun days. If you want to make a weekend out of it, nearby hotels include the Sir Christopher Wren Hotel & Spa and Cliveden House Hotel (Meghan Markle stayed here the night before the royal wedding!).
