Cheap self storage units near Bromley
First recorded as “Bromleag” in an 862 Anglo-Saxon charter, Bromley became an important coaching stop on the journey from Hastings to London. Until the mid-nineteenth century, the village was rural and rather quiet. However, the railway arrived in 1858 and caused growth to skyrocket. The parish later became Bromley Urban District in 1894 and, in 1965, it was officially incorporated into Greater London as the London Borough of Bromley.
In terms of attractions, there’s Charles Darwin’s Down house. Here, you can visit a recreation of Charles and Emma Darwin’s bedroom. There’s also the Chislehurst Caves which cover six hectares, a former chalk digging site. Bromley also boasts a fine selection of pubs and restaurants. From bistros and delis to Italian eateries, there’s certainly no shortage of choice here! Did you know the old Royal Bell Hotel has a mention in the Jane Austen classic Pride and Prejudice?
