Access Promise

Within the competitive markets in which we operate, Access is recognised as a leader due to the high quality of service we deliver. A key value specified within Our Promise is transparency.

To maintain these high standards we invest in staff training and constantly review the way all our services are delivered - and that includes our website.

To provide you with the best website experience – which includes smooth running and quick response times – in line with standard industry practice, we will place small ‘cookies’ on your device (e.g. PC, laptop, mobile phone etc.).

These cookies are not used to identify you personally.

What is a cookie?

Cookies are small data files which are placed on your device by the websites you visit. The data is used to make the website work efficiently and to improve the services which run on the site.

Examples of cookie use:

  • Recognising your device so you don’t have to re-key your username and password each time you visit a site, or when you enter a particular part of a site.
  • Enabling an online service to recognise your device so you can avoid re-inputting the same information several times during one session.
  • Measuring traffic flows through a website so the service can automatically render specific pages or messaging dependant on traffic volumes or journey paths through the site.

How to control, delete or disable cookies

All recent versions of popular browsers (such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox) allow you to control cookies. Cookie controls are usually found within the ‘tools’ or ‘options’ menus shown on browsers. If you struggle finding the cookie control menu, you can try searching for ‘cookies’ under the ‘help’ links displayed on your browser.

Most cookie setting controls systems give examples of what each setting allows. A middle range setting might, for example, allow you to accept a cookie that allows you to log in to a website, but would reject any which are used to build a profile of your internet browsing history.

A more restrictive setting may cause your browser to prompt you each time a cookie is offered.

Please be aware that restricting all cookies offered by this or any other standard website, you should expect the websites to run less smoothly and you may even find some functions or links may not work on your device.

Third party advertising cookies

We use advertisements on our website which are generated by third parties. These third parties will typically use cookies to identify how many times an advert has been viewed, the number of unique visitors an advert has received, or to limit the number of times an advert is shown.

Third parties will have their own privacy policy and we have no control over this. Please note however that third parties cannot access any data we collect about your website usage.

The European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (EDAA) has developed a useful website covering online advertising. By visiting the Your Online Choices page you can learn more about behavioural targeting, which includes how to turn off third party cookies.
