What are your storage units like?
Our storage units range from the size of a locker to a tennis court. Our units are generally a minimum of 8ft in height, with metal walls, a clean empty floor space and either a conventional or roll-up metal door, which you secure with your own padlock.
What security do you have?
All our storage centres are monitored 24 hours a day, inside and out, by CCTV, and smoke and fire detectors which are linked to BT Redcare. Most facilities have a perimeter fence and gates, as well as individually alarmed storage units which are disarmed by entering an 8 (not 4) digit PIN code.
Our corridors are wide and well lit, and there is a help phone on every floor which is manned 24 hours a day.
Can more than one of our staff have access to each storage unit?
Yes. You will need a combination padlock (which we can provide), and then you control who you give the access code to. We then simply need to know who you give permission to.
Are there any items we can’t store?
You can use your unit to store almost any business item at Access, as long as it:
- Is not against the law
- Is not hazardous or could easily catch fire
- Is not a living thing such as a plant or animal
- Is not cash or something worth a large amount of money
- Is not likely to decompose or fall apart
What is the minimum rental period?
The minimum time you can rent a storage unit for is 7 days.
How long can we rent storage units?
You can rent storage unit for as long as you need storage, and can change unit size at any point within that period.
Can I change the size of the units, or the number and location?
Yes. So that you only ever pay for the space you need, you can add or remove storage units from across our portfolio, or increase or reduce unit sizes, all without penalty and simply by sending an email to your Account Manager.
When and how often can our staff access our storage units?
In all our facilities, your staff can access your storage units as many times as they like during our extensive reception hours – which are generally 7 days a week. In stores offering 24 hour or extended hours access, they can continue to access your units as often as required using a unique PIN code – at no additional charge.
Do you charge us to access our storage units?
No we don’t. Your staff can visit your storage lockers or units as often as they like during our store reception hours. Where stores offer extended or 24 hour access, they are free to visit as many times as they want using a unique PIN code.
What is included in the rental price? Are there any hidden charges?
Your monthly fee includes rent, rates, utilities, maintenance and even VAT (where it is chargeable). We won’t apply an administration fee, and only certain types of payment plan require a fully-refundable deposit. You will require a padlock and insurance cover, and you can purchase these from us, or provide them yourself. Where extended or 24 hour access is available, this is also included in the quoted monthly fee.
Can we have a single price for each storage unit regardles of location?
Yes you can, but as we will work out a bespoke multi-site quote this may not be the best option for you depending on the individual store locations.
Do we receive a single invoice for all our storage units?
Yes. Your multi-site account is handled centrally so you will receive a monthly consolidated bill for all your storage units.
Is insurance compulsory and how is it calculated?
Insurance is a requirement of renting self storage space within the UK. We can arrange storage-specific cover for £5.00 per month per £1,000 of goods insured, with a minimum of £2,000 cover. If you choose to arrange your own policy, we will ask you to provide proof of this and advise on what is required.
What are your opening hours?
Our reception opening hours are generally 08.30 – 18.00 Mon – Fri, 08.30 – 17.00 Sat and 10.00 – 16.00 Sun, although many of our stores offer 24 hr access. Please see individual store pages for specific details.
Do we have to sign multiple contracts?
The choice is yours. As part of our bespoke multi-site service we can provide a single central contract, or 1 per storage unit.
Will you help me unload my goods?
Yes, we offer a forklifting service to unload palletised goods.
